Introduction: The Power of Tawakkul (Trust) Imagine standing alone against a King and an entire nation. Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) faced this reality. He challenged the idol worshippers of Babylon, proving that their statues were powerless. In return, they decided to punish him in the most horrific way: burning him alive.
The Great Fire King Nimrod ordered a massive fire to be built. It was so huge that birds flying over it would drop dead from the heat. They bound Ibrahim hand and foot and placed him in a catapult to launch him into the inferno.
"Sufficient for Me is Allah" As he was thrown into the air, Angel Jibreel (Gabriel) appeared and asked, "Do you need anything?" Ibrahim replied, "From you? No. From Allah? Yes." Then he uttered the words that would become a shield for all believers: "Hasbunallahu wa ni'mal Wakil" (Allah is sufficient for us, and He is the best Disposer of affairs).
The Miracle Before he touched the flames, Allah commanded the fire: "O fire, be coolness and safety upon Abraham." (Quran 21:69). Physics changed instantly. The fire remained visible, but its heat vanished. Ibrahim sat comfortably in the middle of the flames. Only his ropes burned away, setting him free.
