The story of the Prophet Elisha, peace be upon him

Elisha, peace be upon him, is one of the prophets of the Children of Israel. God sent him after the Prophet Elias, peace be upon him, to complete his call and establish monotheism among a people who were afflicted with corruption of the faith and deviation from God’s method. Elisha was one of Elias's most distinguished students, and he learned knowledge, patience, and asceticism from him.

After God raised Elias, Elisha assumed the responsibility of preaching among the children of Israel. He called on them to worship God alone, to abandon the polytheism and corruption they were in, and to adhere to the Sharia that God had revealed to their prophets. Elisha was a righteous man of honorable status. God revealed blessings and miracles through his hands, so that the believers who were with him loved him.

Among the stories reported about Elisha is that he was the reason for the spread of goodness and blessings in the land to which he was sent, and that God helped him confront the injustice of the kings who ruled the children of Israel at that time. He was also very compassionate towards the weak, and sought to spread justice among people.

There are not many details about his life in the Qur’an, but his mention with the prophets indicates his high status. God Almighty said:
{And mention Ishmael, and Elisha, and Dhul-Kifl, and each of the good people}
That is, Al-Yasa is one of the good and righteous servants of God.

Elisha continued his call until God passed away after years of reform and patience, and his impact remained on the Children of Israel after him, as he was one of the prophets who renewed the call after a period of deviation.
