“And We raised him to a high place” (Maryam: 57).

Raising to heaven: The meaning of “We raised him to a high place” differed, but the most common interpretation is that God raised him to the fourth, sixth, or seventh heaven before he died, which is what the Prophet Muhammad, may God bless him and grant him peace, saw on his ascension journey. He is alive in heaven until now, like Jesus, peace be upon him, according to what some scholars say.

His death: According to the popular view of levitation, his death was not on earth, but rather he was raised alive or his soul was captured there.

⌛ His age and death

His age: There is no definitive documentation of his age in the Qur’an and Sunnah.

Death/Raising: He was raised to a high place in the sky, as mentioned in the Holy Quran.

Note: The story of Idris has special importance in linking prophecies, wisdom, and worldly sciences, as he represents the first prophet to contribute to organizing human civil life.
