📜 Lineage and birth
Lineage: He is a descendant of Seth, peace be upon him, and he is the eighth generation from Adam, peace be upon him.
Birth and upbringing: He was born and lived in a period in which polytheism began to appear and spread among his people, who deviated from monotheism and began to worship idols (Wad, Suwa, Yaghouth, Ya`uq, and Nasr).
Reason for the mission: God sent him to save humanity from the first great polytheism that occurred on earth after Adam, peace be upon him.
🕰️ Da’wah and long patience
Invitation period: $950 a year.
The beginning of the call: Noah, peace be upon him, was sent when he was forty or fifty years old (in disagreement). He began calling on his people to unite God and reject the worship of idols that they created to perpetuate the memory of the righteous.
Method of preaching: Noah used all methods of preaching: secretly and publicly, day and night, enticement and intimidation. But his people were stubborn and arrogant, and their response was as described in the Qur’an: “And they said, ‘Do not leave your gods, nor leave Wad, nor Suwa, nor Yaghuth, nor Ya’uq, nor Nasr’” (Noah: 23).
Arrogance and stubbornness: Only a small number believed in him, and their number is estimated at dozens. Noah continued to call upon them for nearly a thousand years minus fifty years, and he was patient and patient, while his people mocked him and harmed him.
🚢 The biggest miracle (making the ship)
Despair of faith: After a long supplication, Noah, peace be upon him, despaired of the faith of his people, so he prayed for their destruction, and God responded to him.
The command to build the ark: God inspired Noah to build a great ark in an area far from rivers and seas, so his people would pass by him and mock him, and he would answer them: “If you mock us, then we will mock you just as you mock us” (Hud: 38).
Boarding the ship: When the time of torment came, God commanded him to carry two animals and birds from each pair (male and female) into the ship, his faithful household, and those who believed with him.
The infidel son: Noah tried to intercede for his son who refused to ride and preferred to climb a mountain, so God called him that his son was not among his (righteous) family, and the son drowned with the drowned.
🌊 The flood and the salvation of the believers
The beginning of the torment: The flood began with “immediately in the oven” (water came out abundantly from the earth), and the waters descending from the sky met with the waters coming out of the earth, and it was the great flood.
Destruction of the unbelievers: The flood drowned all the unbelievers among Noah's people, and only those who were in the ship survived.
Stabilization of the ship: The ship moved by God’s command until it settled on Mount El-Judi after the flood ended.
The beginning of the new cycle of life: Noah and his companions descended from the ark, becoming the new offspring of humanity (therefore Noah is sometimes called the “second father of humanity”).
⌛ His age and death
His age: It was mentioned in the Holy Qur’an that he lived among his people for 950 years as a preacher, and scholars differed in determining his full age. Some of them said that he lived for approximately 1400 years (950 years in preaching + the life before the mission and after the flood), and he is one of the longest-lived prophets.
Death: Noah, peace be upon him, died after life had stabilized and he had organized it for his grandchildren and descendants after the flood.
Burial place: It was said in the Holy Kaaba, it was said in the Kufa Mosque, and it was said in another place, and there is no definitive documentation.
Note: The story of Noah, peace be upon him, is an example of long patience and perseverance in calling for monotheism despite extreme stubbornness and rejection.
