## 📜 Lineage and birth

## 💧 His childhood in Mecca and the miracle of Zamzam
1. **The Journey to Mecca:** By God’s command, Abraham carried his wife Hagar and her infant son Ishmael to **Wadi Mecca** (it was a barren land with no crops, no water, and no habitation). He left them there and came back.
2. **Running out of supplies:** Water and food ran out, and Ismail began crying from thirst, so Hagar began to run between the mountains **Safa and Marwah** seven times in search of any sign of water.
3. **The Miracle of Zamzam:** While Hagar was running, God gushes water from under the feet of the infant Ishmael or next to him, and it was **The Well of Zamzam**.
4. **The arrival of the Jarhum tribe:** With the presence of water, the **Jurhum tribe** came (from Yemen) and asked Hagar for permission to reside next to them, and she agreed, and thus Mecca began to develop.

## 🕌 His youth and his participation in building the Kaaba
1. **Learn Arabic:** Ismail grew up in Mecca and learned the **Arabic language** from the Jarham tribe.
2. **Slaughter (test):** The greatest test was the vision of Abraham being slaughtered, and Ishmael’s surrender to God’s command: $O my father, do what you are commanded. You will find me, God willing, among those who are patient. May God redeem him with a great sacrifice.
3. **Building the Kaaba:** Ismail participated with his father Abraham in **building the Holy Kaaba**, and Abraham was building and Ishmael was handing him stones, and they were praying: **$Our Lord, accept from us. Indeed, You are the Hearer, the Knower$** (Al-Baqarah: 127).

## 📿 His prophecy and lineage
1. **Marriage:** Ismail married from the Jarham tribe, and he had twelve sons, and they are the origins of the **Adnani Arab tribes** of which Quraysh is part, and of which is our Prophet Muhammad, may God bless him and grant him peace.
2. **The Message:** God sent him to the tribe of Jarhum, the residents of Mecca, and the neighboring Yemeni tribes to call them to monotheism and the law of his father Abraham. He called for performing prayers and paying zakat.
3. **Rank:** He was mentioned in the Holy Qur’an as **truthful in his promise** and that he was a messenger and a prophet.
