Birth and upbringing: He was born in Palestine (the land of Canaan) and lived there his whole life.
🕌 His life and prophecy
His blessing: God mentioned Isaac in the Holy Qur’an among the righteous prophets, describing him as guidance and blessing.
Marriage and offspring: Isaac, peace be upon him, married Rebekah bint Bethuel (his cousin). She gave birth to him two twin sons:
Al-Eis (he is the father of the Romans).
Jacob, peace be upon him (he is Israel, from whom the children of Israel came).
Caliphate: Isaac, peace be upon him, continued to call people to monotheism and spread the law of his father Abraham, peace be upon him, in the land of the Levant and Palestine. He was a generous prophet and a keeper of the covenant between him and God.
The sacrifice: Scholars agreed that Ishmael, peace be upon him, was the sacrifice that Abraham was commanded to slaughter, and not Isaac, but some accounts of the People of the Book say that it was Isaac. As for the Qur’anic text, it refers to Ishmael and then announces the news of Isaac after him.
⌛ His age and death
His age: Isaac, peace be upon him, lived about 180 years.
Death: He died in Palestine.
Burial place: He was buried in the city of Hebron in Palestine, in a place now known as the Ibrahimi Mosque, next to his father Abraham, peace be upon him, and his mother Sarah.
Note: Isaac, peace be upon him, is the link between Abraham and all the prophets who came after him in the descendants of the Children of Israel (including Jacob, Joseph, Moses, David, Solomon, and Jesus, peace be upon them).
